1)
I am an average college student who loves
coffee, hanging out with friends and needs somewhere to do homework and study. I
have experienced the problem of not being able to find somewhere to sit
multiple times in my two years of college. I have experience using apps but not
creating one. I hope to organize people with skills I don’t have to create an
app to solve this problem. I don’t see this business as playing a large role in
my life.
2)
The service I am offering is knowledge about whether
a coffee shop or library has seating available and where the seating is
available before traveling to that location.
3)
I am offering this to students who desire to
study at the library and at coffee shops. People from the age 18-25. College
students. People who drink coffee. People who hangout at coffee shops.
4)
Time is being wasted traveling to that location
and then looking for a seat. If someone could know before, they would save time
and be more productive. Finding parking in Gainesville isn’t easy either so
sometimes it can take a very long time to travel to a coffee shop. Some of the
shops aren’t close to campus, like Cymplify.
5)
I know about the different coffee shops around Gainesville
and how they can get very crowded at certain times of the day, certain days of
the week and certain weeks of the semester. The idea of a smart library like
the smart garages at Disney Springs. I have the resources UF has to offer
because I am a student here.
I believe these concepts fit together. The solution directly
resolves the problem. I do think there are some ideas I have that I am not sure
how will fit into the solution of creating an app. I do not have the engineering skills to invent the technology to make a smart library. I feel confident in my basic solution
of an app that people update the busyness of a location. I do need to find more
incentives for people to update the location that they are at.
Hey Meg,
ReplyDeleteI really like your idea about giving students the knowledge of whether a coffee shop or library has seating available. It is very annoying getting ready and prepared to go somewhere to study to find out it is filled and there is nothing you can do about it. Not only is it a disappointment but it also throws off the mentality of wanting to study. I think it is a good idea and if you had assistance or advanced your understanding of app design this idea could be a success!
Meg,
ReplyDeleteAs a student, I can see this idea having a lot of potential. I like how you addressed a specific target audience, and the explanation you give about why it pertains to them. The fact that you’re a student would give you a lot of leverage on this topic, because you know the annoyances first hand. I also like how you give a reference, like Disney springs.
